252 Vaishnav Varta 171 - Narayandas PandeyNow the sentiment of the account of Narayandas Pandey, a Sanodhiya Brahmin of Anyor, sevak of Shri Gusainji, is being described.
Bhav Prakash (Revealing the Sentiment): Narayandas is a sattvik devotee. In the divine play, her name is “Narayani.” She manifested from “Vrajavilasini.” Therefore, her form is full of divine sentiment. He was born in Anyor in the house of a Sanadhya Brahmin. That Brahmin belonged to the family of Sadhu Pandey. Narayan Pandey became about twenty or twenty-two years old when his parents passed away.
Prasang 1 – Narayandas Receives Grace from Shri Gusainji
Once, Shri Gusainji came from Shri Gokul to Anyor. At that time, Narayandas Pandey had darshan of Shri Gusainji. He received darshan of the complete Supreme Purushottam Himself. Then Narayandas thought within his mind, “He appears to be Shri Govardhandhar Shri Nandkumar Himself. Therefore, it is best to go into His refuge.” Then Narayandas humbly prayed to Shri Gusainji, “Maharajadhiraj! Please bestow Your grace and give me the Name.” Then Shri Gusainji ordered from His lotus mouth, “Go bathe and come. I shall give you the Name.” Then Narayandas bathed in Govind Kund and came and stood before Shri Gusainji. Then Shri Gusainji mercifully bestowed the Name upon Narayandas.
After that, on the next day, He had him observe the vow and performed the offering ceremony. Then, out of grace, He granted Narayandas Pandey divine darshan of Shri Govardhannathji. Having those darshans, he became greatly delighted. After that, Shri Gusainji bathed and went into the temple. After performing the seva and adornment, He offered Rajbhog to Shri Thakurji. Then, after removing the offering and completing the anusar, Shri Gusainji came down from Giriraj and sat upon the cushion and pillows in His sitting place. Then Shri Gusainji said to Narayandas Pandey, “Rise and take Mahaprasad.” Afterward, Shri Gusainji had Mahaprasad served to Narayandas. Then Shri Gusainji Himself took His meal, chewed betel, and reclined. After resting for a short while, Shri Gusainji arose.
Then the time for Utthapan came. Shri Gusainji bathed and went into the temple of Shri Govardhannathji. Then He had the conch sounded. After completing all the services up to the evening shayan seva, Shri Gusainji came down from Shri Giriraj and sat upon the cushion and pillows in His sitting place.
He remained there for several days. After that, Shri Gusainji returned to Shri Gokul. Then Shri Gusainji said to Narayandas Pandey, “You should come afterward. We shall finish the morning seva of Shri Navneetpriyaji.” Then Shri Gusainji took leave from Shri Govardhannathji and departed for Shri Gokul. Narayandas followed behind and arrived there as well. When they reached Shri Gokul, Shri Gusainji bathed and entered the temple of Shri Navneetpriyaji. After performing the seva and adornment, and after offering Rajbhog and completing the arati, He granted darshan of Shri Navneetpriyaji to Narayandas Pandey.
Having darshan, Narayandas became greatly delighted. After the anusar was completed, he came for darshan of Shri Gusainji and offered full prostrated dandvat pranam. Then Shri Gusainji ordered from His lotus mouth, “Narayandas, take Mahaprasad here.” Then Shri Gusainji dined together with all the children. After performing achaman and chewing betel, He had a leaf plate of Mahaprasad set before Narayandas. Narayandas then accepted the Mahaprasad. Afterward, Shri Gusainji went to His sitting place and reclined. After resting briefly, Shri Gusainji awoke and saw Narayandas standing there fanning Him. Then Shri Gusainji became greatly pleased with Narayandas and said, “Narayandas, sit down. You must have become tired.”
In this manner, Narayandas performed seva for many days. He never went anywhere leaving Shri Gokul. Until the time Narayandas Pandey left his body, he never went anywhere else and remained fully engaged in the seva of Shri Gusainji. Then Shri Navneetpriyaji began granting divine experiences to Narayandas Pandey.
Bhav Prakash (Revealing the Sentiment): In this account, the true nature of taking refuge in the Guru is shown. When a Vaishnav firmly takes shelter of the Guru in this manner, then Shri Thakurji Himself begins to grant divine experiences.
Narayandas Pandey was such a greatly blessed devotee and recipient of Shri Gusainji’s supreme grace. Therefore, how far can one continue describing his sacred account?
