I am confused and wanted someone to help me.
What is Anaya Asharaya?
Why is it that if we do go to say Mahadevjis mandir then we should only do Jai Shri Krishna.
Why does doing namaskar or dandwat result in Anaya Asharaya?

Shri Vallabhdesh ki Jai.
Shri Goverdhannathji ki Jai

Jai Shri Krishna Shym Bhai,

Not very good at explaining, but will try,

when we feel hungry to satisfy our hunger we just eat food from the mouth and the stomach automatically does it jobs of converting it to energy and distributing it to rest of body. Even for plants very small or a huge tree we cannot possibly give water/minerals to each leaf/stem individually. Thus the correct way is just to give water to the roots and the job gets done.

In the same way once we have realised that Shree krishna is Purna Purshottam, there is no longer need to worship each Devi Devta individually and the truth is we cannot as there are 33 crore of them. So if we do Thakorji seva/smaran sada (continously) the job is done.

having said that if we happen to see a diety of Param Vaishnav Shivji or even other Devi Devta, when we say "Jai Shri Krishna", even the diety is happy that our isht dev is Shree Thakorji is same (Shri Krishna)and it does get offended. Also as once Lalan Shree said: is a laukik world, a man might talk/come across many females but he should know the difference for whom his heart as the feelings and deal with the most beloved in a different way.

In the same way out utmost love has to be for Shri Thakorji.

dont know if it make sense, but sure other Vaishnavs can explain it as well.

Jai Shree Krishna

Well explained manish bhai.

The answer is very simple Shyam ji, Shree Krishna is the supreme being, this is said in the vedas, the Puranas and by the lord himself in Bhagwad Geetha. And as a Vaishnav, a Pushitmargiya Vaishnav, one has accepted him as the lord, and have once and for all offered all that we consider to be ours to him, including our very self. When you have surrendered yourself to the Supreme form, were is the logic in offering reverence to that which is only a part of his, the devi devtaas etc.

When we know the president himself, would you like to go and seek favours from his officers, the chaprasis etc. We would only belittle our valuble freindship with Mr. President, isnt it ?

At the same time, we have to pay our respect to the devi devtaas by doing Naman, dandvat etc, to them when we come across their temples etc, as they are Devi Devtaas and attached to the Supreme one. But to seek their blessings for personal gain etc, is doing anyashray, and deviating form Ananya, unflinching Bhakthi of Shree Thakorji, the Poorna purushottam Prabhu.

As explained by Shreekanth Bhai,

In the BramaSamband Mantra itself we have Surrendered every thing including Our selves, and became Das of Shree Thakorji.

One will not do Anyashray if He See's his Poorna Purushottam Prabhu Shree Thakorji in every Devtas.

Correct me if Wrong.

Jai SHree Krishna,

As mentioned by every one above it is true that we should only do "Jai Shree Krishna" to Shivji also as he is the "PARAM BHAKT" of Shree Thakorji. In other words Shivji is "PARAM VAISHNAV".

What I am trying to ask is what is implied when we do dandwat?
What is implied when we do namaskar?
What is the defintion asharaya?
If we do dantwat is that taking asharaya? If we bow to another devi/devta does the bowing result in anaya asharaya?
I hope my questions make sense

Jai Shree Krishna

Dandvat is only a way of paying respect, in the hindu tradition.
By merely doing dandvat, one does not surrender to the Devi/devta.
Hence Bowing to other devi/devtas as a mark of respect to them does not amount to anyashraya. Or for that matter does not result in ananya ashraya.
On the contrary, a true Vaishanv would pay his respects to any devi/devtas mantir he comes across or passes by like he pays repct to the elders in his own family.

However, to Bow and surrender oneself to the very devi /devta would amount to deviation from ashrya of Shree thakorji. Such an act breaks the ananyatha, the unflinching faith in our shree thakorji, which is why we have sought refuge in any devi/devta, hence one ought to refrain from seeking refuge on any kind in any devi/devta.

Further, one who has devoloped Ananaya ashray  has gone far ahead in his devotion to Shree Thakorji, and would very rarely break his anayatha, unflinching devotion. Such a devotee rarely sees anyother devine form other than that of Shree thakorji in front of him, and would merely pay his respect to any of the devi/devtaas and move ahead.

Simply put....
Anyashraya means seeking refuge in other deity other than our own Shree Thakorji.
By doing dandvat, bowing etc., we are only paying respect to a superior being, but not seeking refuge under him, hence, bowing or doing dandvat pranam, to the bast of my knowledge does not amount to anyashraya. Edited by - shreekant22 on August 19 2005 12:35:07
