jai shree krishna the reason why ram navmi is celebrated is because ram was one of krishna avatar and in pushtimarg we have to do i think 4 or 5 such things eg vaman jenti (this was also krishna avartar in vaman avatar)

The reason we celebrate Ram Navami, Nrsing Chaturdasi and Vaman Dwadasi is because all these avatars had performed a 'pushti' karya. I think that is the real reason they are celebrated. On all Jayanti Panchamarat is performed. Ram Navami & Vaman Dwadasi (mid day). Nrsing Chaturdasi evening (6pm). In addition the Tilak ceremony is performed. On Janmastmi however there are two Panchamarats that day. One is in the morning on the ocassion of the Pragataya. The other is for 'janma' at midnight.

Jayshrikrishna, And now as for the Bali raja's prasang: when Vaman Bhagavan took everything from Baliraja in 2 steps, Baliraja offered his own head for the 3rd step. God was very happy at this gesture & gave baliraja patallok's rajya & HE HIMSELF became dwarpal ( gurd ) of his/Baliraj's kingdom. this is the Pushti kraya in Vaman Avatar.
