Jai Shree Krishna,
Happy Dashera to all of you !!!!
The utsav of Dashera signifies Swaminiji's win over Thakurji.Swaminiji's charnarvind has the sign of 'jau' engraved and Thakurji saw this once.So accepting His defeat Thakurji adorns the 'javara'(a grown 'jau') on His forehead on Dashera.' Javara' is like a grown grass about 10-12 inches long. On the first day of Navratri the seeds of 'jau' are sprinkled in a vessel filled with sand. This sprinkling of the seed is done with much fanfare in the haveli and is done by Vallabhkul Acharya. The ritual is called 'ankur- aropan'. Then till the tenth day the seed grows into a 10-12 inch grass which then is collected, cleaned and offered to Thakurji. It is placed on Thakurji's forehead like a 'mayur-pankh'.
Thanks
