Jai Shree Krishna This story was told by the Gokulwasis during my recent visit there. While waiting for the darshan at the Temple of Shree Gokulanathji, we were discussing the famous swaroopa of shree Gokulnahtji: The Thakorji belong to Mahaprabhjis Sasural. When Mahaprbhuji was leaving Varanasi, This swaroopa was given to him by his in-laws, which he gladly accepted, However when he tried to place the thakorji in a Japi, he found the jhapi too be small, it was late in the evening/night, and Mahaprabhuji was wondering as how to porcure another jhapi, seeing Mahaparbhjis samasya, The Swaroopa of Shree Gokulnathji offered to reduce it size in order to fit in to the jhapi, there by relieving Mahaprabhujis samasya. This is the same swaroopa in Worship at the Gokulnathjis Haveli. Then one of the Gokulwasis told us that Shree Gokulnathji has Golden chain attached now. The story being that once when a cowherd was gazing his cows he found something shine and glitter in the ground among the cows, when he picked it up he foun it to the Tahkorjis swaroopa, bewildered, he brought it ot the haveli to the Gobalak. Realsing that the swaroopa being Gokulnath was immensly in love with cows and hence use to go with them during gracing, after this incident, keeping in mind the Shram he went through, it is said that there is a golden chain attched to him ristricitng his movements. I would at this juncture like to add that this is supposedly a fact confirmed by the gokulwasis. However if there is any discrepensy or untruth in it, then in offer my sincere apaologies for the same.
