Dear Pushtidas Jai Shree Krishna My knowledge in NAV-VILAS, is very limited, despite attending the function year on year, so if other readers have no objection, could you please enlighten in rather simple english. My suggestion is start from day day 1 and take us to the 9th day as the events occur/occured. I will personally request the admin to post the pictures which I had taken last year. Trust other readers will have no objection to complete the subject. Thanks. Vinod Edited by - vinod on October 19 2004 21:18:38

Jai Shree krishna When first Nav-villas started there was no dress attire. This dress attire started sometimes one hundred thirty years ago. It first appeared in Udaipur and then was never carried forward and no one really knew why it was not taken up. Then it was mentioned in "Nav-Villas Deepika", a granth written by Shree 108 Shree Leela-astah Goswami Dwarkesh Maharajshree. In that Deepika Aapshree had discussed the colours which should have been worn by Thakorji and also on the same villas the gopies also created the mutual dress attire and colour. Now the problem was that all saptah gadies had decided to dress Thakorji's with different colours for Nav-villas. And no gadi parikar were able to make a decission. But according to shree Dwarkeshji after studying Shree Hariraiji Prabhucharan's notes on Nav-Villas, two dress attire, one for Thakorji and other for the Sakhi who in first place made Nav-villas possible. The dress attire excepted for Thakorji was of Shree Nathji who at presents is residing (BIRAJAY CHAI) at Nathdwara Temple. The other was for Sakhi in Nav-villas, which was an attire from Hariraiji's note. All above was explained by Shree Mathureshwarji and Shree Prabhuji Mahodai Shree in one of heir vachnamrut about 9 years ago. In my search for the facts I saw the prat where Shree Dwarkeshlalji sighted his observation and this prat is now in the possesion of Surat Gadi, that was what I understand from Choba Bhagwandasji who originally had this prat and his great great grand father was sevak of Shree Hariraiji. Since then I tried to acquire the prat but was told that it's codition is such that we are not allowed to bring the prat in the sunlight as the ink which was used is fading gradually under sun-rays. The hand written granth "Nav-Villas Deepika" is somewhere in Upletta, Gujarat. I am trying to get this granth but so far cannot allocate it. On my last trail I found that the granth is in existance and was with Vithlani family in Upletta and when I located the family, I was shocked that as new generation follow Shivji; no longer needed to keep the Pushti Sahitya so they gave some to vaishnava and some went to "Radi Kagaj Bhandar". And my trail to allocate this Granth went cold. I have a labourious task to find this granth and now short listed the vaishnava who had some granth from Vithlani Family. I now have narrowed it to Gajjar family who had many granth from Vithlani family. So I concentration to this information. I have allocated this family who is now in Glassgow,UK. The Person I contacted was Amar Gajjar and he said that most of the books have been left in a loft in Mumbai and he will bring all the books to London and he will donate these books to Parishad in London. All these pustaks were of his great grand mother Kusumbai Gajjar, she was in Pushtimarg and now the family although are Kanthidhari but do not practice Pushti Marg and hence do not need these pustak, but has kindly voluntered to give these pustaks to PARISHAD in London. We are going to get these pushtak in April that is when Mr Gajjar will visit India nad parcel us the books. And yes you guessed it, I am keeping my finger cross that this parcel will bring that good news which I am trying to get. Phew... after the background, here is the colour attire which Parishad in London is following. We have in committee have decided that the dress attire we are going to follow is of Shree Nathji Temple dress attire which was followed 130 years ago. Here is the list: Villas one......Laal Villas two......Peedo Villas three....Leelo Villas four.....Keshri Villas five.....Syam Ghata Villas six......Gulabi Villas seven....Shoshni Villas eigth....Piroji Villas nine.....Safed Daso no das Pushtidas

Jai Shree Krishna Pushtidasji (i hope u notice the missing shree), my sadar namaskars to you on your unrelented efforts. With thakorjis krupa, i pray that your wishes are fullfilled and the granths reach safe hands. Also please please do provide the detaisl of the Nav- vilas for the benefit of all of us in this site. I would request you to put them in the article section, possibly under the Krishna leelas heading where it would be easily locatable by all who visit the site rather than in the discussion hall, where it will be lost in the mayhem of so many discussion points.

Jai Shree krishna Thanks a lot Shreekantji, for your "Shri" which was edited out. Your idea to post as an article is a very good one and under Krishna-Leela...wow much better...as this villas is very much Krishna leela. Thanks for the suggestion. Well done Vasantbhai, what spot, yes I do agree that these are the colours depicted by the colours mainly worn by these snah Manorathi Sakhies. Inccidently, can anyone tell why these are the colours sakhi wear? The clue is in Shree Vasantbhai's above postings !!!! Daso no das Pushtidas

Jai Shree Krishna Pustidasji In the begining you asked the question..... "We have main (MUKHIYA) sakhi for every vilas, who are they and what were their manorath during the vilas?" Please kindly tell us the answer to second part of your question, what were the mukhiya sakhis' manorath during the vilas.
