Jai Shri Krishna, Comentary (CONTD.) Once again when Shri Mahaprabhuji completed His Subodhiniji on the tenth chapter and was completing the eleventh when He heard the third call. This time He (Shri Mahaprabhuji)made up His mind to devote this time in the service of God (Shri Krishna) and enjoy the bliss of His proximity. This work (Antah Karana Prabhodha) makes reference to this incident and expresses His feelings that, even in such cases the devotee should not feel cut off from God's Grace. He gives the following reasons:- 1) Such violations of God's orders are also due to HIS WILL. 2) The devotees should remember the example of the Gopies of Gokul, who did not obey Lord Krishna when He first called them and then admonished them to go back. 3) By such acts, God tests the love of the devotees. To Be CONTD.

Jai Shri Krishna Comentary Contd. 4) The devotees are like Chandali (a scavenger woman) before accepted by GOD in Pushi Marg. By birth she is a low cast woman, but when she is favoured by the King and exalted to the position as a queen, she is fortunate. But if on account of her own fault or due to the Kings will, she is driven out from the palace, she should not feel sorry as she is reverted to her original state. So also the devotees should think of their original status and compromise with the new situation, even if they are thrown out from God's FAVOUR, but should love GOD. 5) It is the primary duty of the devotees to obey the command of God under all circumstances. 6) The devotees should engage their mind and body in the service of God, but much time is wasted in worldly pursuits, neglecting the service of GOD. Shri Mahaprabhuji says that, this is not proper. He, who, neglects the SEVA OF GOD will not receive HIS FAVOUR. Please note the first part of Comentary is over now the continuation of the shloks starting with number 5 and 6 together will be posted soon. After that number 7th, 8th, and 9th seperately will be posted and there will be a long comentary again before the last shloks number 10th will be posted.

Jai Shri Krishna, Shloks 5 and 6 together. Ajnapurvam tu ya jata Ganga Sagar Samgame Yape Pascan Madhuvane na Krtam Taddvayam maya. Deha desa Parityagastratiyo loka gocarah Pascattapah katham tatra sevakoaham na Canyatha. Meaning ----------- I did not act according to both the commands of the Lord, the first being given in the region of Ganga Sagar Confluence (Ganga Sagar Sangame) About casting off the body. The second while at Madhuvan [(near Mathura) (regarding the abandoning of the place)] Now the third divine command about casting off the body and renouncing the place externally ostensible to the world. (Asur Vyamoha Lila) Therefore bidding to achieve renunciation (SANYAS)as experienced by the worldly creatures. In this situation what for then repentance? I am the devotee or servant and none else. Paraphrase on above shloks (5 & 6) to be contd. Edited by - Vasant Punjabi on February 15 2005 05:37:35

Jai Shri Krishna, Paraphrase shlok 5 & 6 --------------------------- Shri Mahaprabhuji did not observe the first bidding extended to Him while He was at the region of Ganga Sagar Confluence. Also the second near Mathura (Madhuvan) respectively, because he was busy revealing the importance of Lord's Form and the abstruse import of Shrimad Bhagwad (Shri Subhodhiniji)therefore the non compliance was in compliance itself. There was no self interest of me (Shri Mahaprabhuji). There is every possibility of an impropriety being committed because of the connivance at the two previous commands, nevertheless the third bidding of renunciation being obeyed, the former two commands automatically stand complied with. Assuming so the repentance is not worthwhile. If the Lord delays the fruit because of violating His first two commands, repentance is unwarranted taking the delay itself to be the punishment. I am the devotee or the servant and not otherwise, because had the Lord not accepted me as the devotee, He would have neglected me for my impropriety. He also might not have given the third command accepting me to be His own. The Lord has therefore recognised me as His own devotee or servant hence there is no need of repentance. Thus Shri Mahaprabhuji is instructing the followers of the Path of Grace (Vaishnav) to act according to the bidding of the LORD.

Jai Shri Krishna, Shlok 7 -------------- Laukika Prabhuvatkrsno Na Drstavyah Kadacan Sarvamsamarpitam Bhaktya Krtarthoasi Sukhi Bhava Meaning --------- Lord Krishna should not be looked as a worldly master. One's all has been devotedly dedicated ( To HIM ). Hence thou art the one who has gained desired object. Be therefore, happy. Paraphase --------- Despite impropriety on the part of a devotee or servant, Lord Krishna Himself being the Fruit (PHAL RUP) unlike the worldly master does not desert him (the devotee). Because of the worldly master, being terrestrial or mundane, the renunciation of the adopted is everlasting or eternal and He never forsakes His devotee. It is only through the grace of GOD that thou hast dedicated all and everything of thine according to the Path of Pietism. Hence thou art greatly lucky. Be, therefore, happy giving up anxiety.

Jai Shri Krishna, Shlok 8 ------------ Praudhapi Duhita Yadvatsnehann Presyate Vare Tatha Dehe Na Kartavyam Varastusyati Nanyatha Meaning ----------- Just as the parents don't send their grown up young daughter to her husband out of affection, in the same way such an attachment should not there be with the physique that is without service. Para phase -------------- The parents do not send even their young daughter to her husband taking her still to be an innocent youngster out of filial affection or out of the possibility of being tired performing domestic chores there, or because of the possibility of her feeling inconvenient or distressed there. At this her husband gets displeased. Similarly if, out of affection for the physique or because of sheer idea of an inconvenience and trouble to the body, the body is not involved in the divine service, this leads to the displeasure of the Lord. Just as the grown up daughter when detained at the parental home and not sent to her husband, the latter gets displeased. Likewise the Lord becomes unhappy, if out of affection the physique is not engrossed in the divine services.

Jai Shri Krishna, Shlok 9 ------------ Lokavaccetsthitirme Syatkim Syaditi Vicaraya Asakye Harirevasti Mohan Magah Kathancan Meaning ----------- What is the way out, If I am placed in a situation like that of those worldly creatures who have not dedicated themselves to GOD? (O Conscience?) thus think over. On being incapacitated, only Lord Krishna is the refuge. Hence don't get infatuated. The Lord is Hari that is, He is the abductor of the devotee's pains and sins. Para Phase ------------- Although the expression of the import of the Shrimad Bhagwad as desired by GOD attracts popular admiration yet it is not the supernal praise or praise pertaining to the Path of Grace. If the fruit of our Path (The Path Of Grace) is taken into consideration or pondered over, one comes to know that even salvation etc. themselves in this Path of Grace are not fruits, the other mudane fruits stand nowhere. My position is not like that of the world, because the Lord is gracious to me. GOD is HARI. He abducts all the sins of the one who remembers Him. He (GOD) is, therefore, my protector as well. Taking to be so, do not entangle yourself in the coils of any infatuation or attachment.

Jai Shri Krishna, Thankyou Pushtidasbhai. Will now add some commentary before the last shlok. Antah Karan Prabhodha is addressed to HIS (Shri Mahaprabhuji's) own Mind. He exhorts it to regard Shri Krishna as Great God and to serve HIM steadfastly without fear or failure. Service is the mark of a devotee. It is his duty to render service to GOD. God never forsakes His devotees even if they are offenders. God forgives all but one must have good bhav towards HIM. GOD LOVES ALL EQUALLY and is merciful to all His children who are in diffuculties and protects HIS devotees at all times. He is the Supreme power. Jai Shri Krishna, Commentary Contd. This work ANTAH KARAN PRABHODA was in the form of soliloquy, (A literary form) addressed to one self, was composed by Shri Mahaprabhuji in V.S. 1587, on the seventh day of the dark half of Vaishakh month, i.e. exactly thirty nine days before he left for heavenly abode. (ASURVYAMOH LILA). So chronologically it is the last of the sixteen works (Granths) but literally it is placed SEVENTH. It is autobiographical in nature. As per the varnashram Dharm priscribed by Scriptures, he (Shri Mahaprabhuji) has decided to accept Sanyasashram. At the time of taking Sanyas, he gave sermans to his mother and wife, and others. He addressed to his soul. He was asked by God to return to him twice, but he could not abide by God's wishes. He asks himself the question "should I repent ?" and answer it. There is no cause for repentance as the violation of HIS orders was also his will; and in any case, he affirms, "I am after all HIS accepted servant and none else". God should not be looked upon like a worldly master. He finally advises to dedicate everything and live a devoted life and get God's Bliss. Commentary to be continued.
